The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, said today in a press conference that the City of Jumilla will continue to look for new ways of funding for the project 'Jumilla, History and Wine', which also has been left out of the aid of the third call for the selection of Strategies of Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development co-financed by the FEDER program of sustainable growth.

"We do not renounce a project that is endorsed by the citizens, groups, and technicians of our municipality, there are some parts of the strategy that are already being carried out and will continue to be implemented, waiting for other possibilities to arise. to subsidies, "said the mayor, Juana Guardiola.

"We will continue to improve the project and we will continue trying as many times as necessary," he added.

For his part, Juan Gil, stressed that "it is a project that is the guide of daily work, for the good course of Jumilla, to achieve a more sustainable city, more attractive for investment and more balanced with all its neighbors A living document that is undergoing continuous improvements, and in which its main purpose is to mark a road map, a clear and defined project of Jumilla as a city, we will continue to bet on taking it forward and look for resources from other administrations to execute it. example the improvement in public lighting, the actions in districts and districts and the improvement of infrastructures, which are in this project and are already being carried out ".

The total budget of the project is 6,250,000 euros, of which a total of 5,000,000 euros was requested from the ERDF and a municipal contribution of 1,250,000 euros was foreseen for the 2016-2022 period, which meant that the grant would be 80% of the total cost of the strategy.

'Jumilla, History and Wine' has had a score of 76.25 well above the shortlist, with ratings in all sections, positive, reaching in some blocks to be excellent, but has not exceeded the established cut grade for the Region of Murcia.

Five million euros are destined for the project presented by Águilas, another five for the Cotillas Towers, ten million forMolina de Segura and just over two million forTorre-Pacheco.
