Jumilla closes the year below the 2,000 unemployed a decade later (04/01/2019)

The unemployment curve for 2018 has been below the data of the previous year over the twelve months |

Jumilla has ended 2018 with 1,924 people in search of employment, a figure that for the first time falls of two thousand at the end of the year since 2008, being then the figure of 1,831 unemployed.

The unemployment rate remains, with the current figures, below 20%.

The number of unemployed has decreased by 42 people compared to the end of November, with 38 women.

With regard to the end of 2017 the total number of unemployed is 313 people lower.

The cyclical trend is maintained within the year for the month of December with a greater incidence in the decrease of unemployment than in other years.

The unemployment curve throughout 2018 has been below the data of the previous year over the twelve months, with the difference being especially significant since August, maintaining the proportionality that has been repeated among the sectors economic

By economic sectors it is still the service sector that brings together a greater number of unemployed, representing almost half of all unemployment with 49.69% of the total.

It is where the bulk of female unemployment is concentrated.

Agriculture has fallen significantly from 20.70% to 18.92%, the industry remains around 10% of the total unemployed, and the construction sector picks up from 8.09% to 9, 30%, being 11.80% the sector without activity.

On the other hand, the Councilor for Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, has indicated that we must continue working and contributing measures that continue to improve the figures.
