The Gastronomic Days will once again value the virtues of the municipality (23/10/2019)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Tourism, María Quílez, and the president of the Jumilla Wine Route, Sebastián García, today presented the 14th edition of the Gastronomic Days, an event that one year seeks to promote gastronomy from the city.

They will take place during the five weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) between November 1 and December 1.

In total, 10 days with a total of six restaurants and three wine bars, which together with the 19 wineries registered in the Jumilla Wine Route and the remaining 23 associated with it, "will generate a unique gastronomic atmosphere in the area" , have pointed.

Gastronomy, wines, hotels, specialized shops and oil mills are united with the aim of generating quality tourism and wine tourism.

The wine bars will offer their creation in pecking format, which consists of five tapas and three glasses of wine for a total of 15 euros.

The associated restaurants will serve, in addition to the above formats, the menu option, which consists of starters, first course, main course and dessert, paired by a selection of wines, in this case for 30 euros per person.

Visits to the oil mills with tasting will cost 6 euros.

In addition, on November 10, on the occasion of European Wine Tourism Day, there will be open doors in museums, Castle, Vico Theater, Casa del Artesano and City Hall, as well as free guided tours of wineries by appointment.

The 4x4 Route through Tierra de Vinos has also been scheduled, which will be held on November 3 with departure from the Lorenzo Guardiola Promenade.

Since 2006

The mayor, Juana Guardiola, recalled the evolution of the event, which began in 2006 and was called Gastronomic Week.

It was held from November 7 to 12 and 8 wineries and 12 restaurants participated.

Since then they have been celebrated annually and uninterruptedly around the month of November, making them coincide with the European Wine Tourism Day.

After six editions such as Gastronomic Week, from the seventh (2012) they extend their duration and are called Gastronomic Days.
