Prince Felipe College launches an urban garden (23/06/2016)

Students Prince Felipe College have launched an urban garden in the courtyard of the center in collaboration with the students of Assistant course Nurseries, Garden and Garden Centers being carried out since last April in Jumilla.

Yesterday they placed the first plants to be cared for by the children themselves, who will have an area for class to continue growing in the future and "implement the learning they do in the classroom", said the professor leading the project, Celia Santos, in coordination with the City Council and the company Natural, Water Engineering and Environment, where they are performing practices.

The mayor, Juan Guardiola, and the Councillor for Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, visited the school, observing the work done by students.

The first local mayor congratulated the school "for the happy initiative, as the garden is fully integrated with the environment."

They also encouraged to expand the space it occupies in the future, as the area where it has thus created permits.

For his part, Juan Gil called the initiative this school as "innovative and educational, plus transverse between education, agriculture and employment".
