On Monday 12 begins a new control campaign belts and child restraints (06/09/2016)

Local Police Jumilla take place from 12 to 18 September a new special campaign on Control Seat Belt and Child Restraint Systems (CRS).

It has joined the City of Jumilla in compliance with programming Campaigns and Operations Monitoring and Control 2016 conducted by the Directorate General of Traffic.

The use of approved restraint systems, seat belt and SRI has been proven as the most simple, cost-effective and efficient in all kinds of roads and paths road safety system.

Although it has increased the use of seat belts, there are still serious gaps.

"This is hardly understandable if we consider the relationship between ease of use and effectiveness, as it reduces by half the risk of death in a crash. In recent years there has been a steady trend of 25% of victims fatal traffic accident that did not use the SRI belt or on the total registered, "indicated from the DGT.

One of the objectives of the Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020 is to ensure that no child loses his life because it was not properly seated into a suitable seat for their weight and height.

According to the DGT, monitoring and enforcement with respect to the use of the belt and restraint systems it has established itself as one of the most effective ways to maintain and increase the rate of seat belt use among vehicle occupants.
