Renovation of the Central Market of Abastos Finished (11/07/2017)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Works and Urbanism, Francisco González, and Councilor for Markets, Juan Gil, have presented this afternoon the reform works that have been carried out in the Central Market of Abastos during the last Months with an investment that exceeds 40,000 euros.

The toilets located in the east side of the outer patio have been adapted for people with mobility problems, removing the architectural barriers with which it counted.

The works have been carried out by the company Vifraju SL, with a cost of 7,511.96 euros.

This is one of the proposals that arrived on the part of the citizens through the Participative Budgets, reason why in the presentation have been present several components of the motor group.

In the main hall has been replaced the ceiling, which was quite deteriorated.

A new false ceiling has been placed replacing the pieces of plaster with acoustic plates based on fiber, as these absorb the sound and improve the acoustic comfort, since the venue occasionally hosts shows.

It has also been used to renovate the lighting and lighting lines.

The works have been made by Escayolas Sánchez Jiménez for 26,486.90 euros, of which 20,000 euros came through a grant from the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment.

In addition, this room has also been repainted, in this case with municipal staff.

Likewise, the exit doors have been replaced and moved to the inner courtyard to prevent the counters of two of the kiosks are unprotected from currents, insects, dust or dirt, as well as to avoid thermal losses when being open and without protection side.

The cost of this action was 5,615.13 euros, the work carried out by the company Cristalería y Aluminios Felipe Jiménez Díaz.

The two removed doors are intended to be adapted and serve to replace the central doors of the room, which are still wooden and are deteriorated.

The cost of this action will be 1,113.20 euros.

Market of San Juan

There have also been repairs in the San Juan Neighborhood Market, specifically in the social area of ​​the elderly, giving in this case also a response to another of the proposals that came through the Participatory Budgets.

The leaks have been removed and the walls and ceilings have been painted, in this case by the company Abellán Gil Decoradores for a cost of 3,694.53 euros.
