The opening of this branch "will contribute to significantly decongest the road traffic in the area," said Rivera, who stressed that the stretch that is under construction will capture most of the traffic for long and half-way and will become an alternative To the old N-344 road, which runs 5,500 vehicles daily and more than two million vehicles a year.

Pedro Rivera said after crossing the branch recently opened to traffic that "will allow to absorb the circulation of a high number of daily vehicles that circulate in the area" and remarked that the highway "will be a true revulsive in road communications in the Altiplano and with The Valencian Community, for the interior ".

"This highway is a good example of the commitment of the regional government and the central government with the Altiplano and the infrastructure that our neighbors demand," said the councilor.

This action is part of the first of three sub-stretches that cover the route between Jumilla and Yecla of the A-33, with 23.4 kilometers in length.

The first sub-section, of 7.3 kilometers, goes from the link with the N-344 in Jumilla until the neighborhood road MU-26-A;

And the third sub-section, 8.6 kilometers, runs from the MU-26-A to the regional road C-3223 that gives access to Yecla.

The construction of the Altiplano dual carriageway will continue with the next Yecla-Caudete section, which "will go to tender in the autumn with an investment close to 61 million euros," said the minister, according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Development, Continuity to the works until linking with Fuente La Higuera.
