The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González, and the Sports Councilor, Juan Manuel García, visited this morning the works of the new Olympic Pool of the La Hoya Municipal Sports Center.
The expected date for completion of the same has been established around May, just over two months after the initial forecast that end of February.
The works director, Luis Ruiz, explained the process in which the execution of the pool is at this moment: "The tension test is being carried out in the general plumbing installation, as well as the expansion vessel cover and of the pump room, then proceed to the assembly of all the walls and their concreting, which will enter the final phase of the work.
Likewise, he has explained the reasons why the work has been delayed.
"It was advisable to slow down the process because in order to carry out the projection of this type of concrete it is necessary that the temperatures are not close to frost, On the other hand, we also had problems with special plumbing parts that arrived wrong and had to be re-manufactured. "
The works will cost around 430,064 euros and are being carried out by UTE merchants Zima Desarrollos Integrales and Zaragoza 2012 Constructor Group.
The glass will have Olympic measures.
The sewer system will also be renewed and four shower steps will be installed, instead of two as before.
The entire water supply, electrical installation, as well as the floor and staircase of the treatment plant area will also be new.
It will also be placed an elevator that will allow access to people with mobility problems.
The glass will be shotcrete and reinforced and everything that is in contact with the water will be vulcanized.
