A talk was also attended by the Councillor for Health José Luis Monreal, Councilman Primitivo Gonzalez and municipal group spokesman Enrique Jiménez CP.

The coordinator of the Health Center reported that the most important thing is for residents to review their immunization schedule to ensure they are vaccinated against measles and if not, upon request, the Health Center "insist on throwing the message representatives of groups of people at risk of social exclusion to raise awareness to all people in need of vaccinations, health and self-responsibility. "

Dr. Casas reported that "at present there are about 90 cases in Jumilla, but the important thing is that since it was detected in February, cases are declining significantly, so the outbreak is controlled."

He also noted that "every child vaccinated, you must pass the measles and there are usually no complications, these complications can occur, especially in adults."

"There is a period of 8 or 10 days of incubation can not tell, then there a few days 3 or 4 days that is where the fever, respiratory symptoms, etc and then 4 or 5 days where they appear the spots and pimples, the doctor said adding that "the recommendations are first isolation, since it is contagious, even when the spots are peeling off and there is no risk that then, of course, treatment."

For his part, José Luis Monreal, a councilor of Health noted that "major steps have been taken from the Health Center, we from Health and Social Policy have been coordinated and organized this lecture for the entire population and especially for groups risk, immigrant and people who have not been vaccinated. "

Garcia reported that "the first case was detected in February and was in a Bulgarian-born child, from there it spread to relatives and then to other children."

To date there have been about 90 cases, of which some are under investigation, "but they are decreasing gradually, so that the outbreak is fully under control, although sanitary can not say that the outbreak is eliminated until 28 days pass from the last reported case, "said the specialist.

Visitation Garcia also noted that "the risk population is made up of under 15 months and those aged between 20 and 40 years, since before there was such a vaccine and when there was a vaccination campaign on measles, Jumilla only 10% vaccinated population. "

The doctor insisted that "Measles is not a disease, in principle, complicated, but contagious, and that the MMR vaccine is very effective."

Finally, the nursing coordinator said "the measures taken is to advance vaccine to toddlers aged 6 months and vaccinating health workers and enable two extra consultations for vaccines."
