Jumilla prepares to receive thousands of visitors in the Great Wine Parade (17/08/2018)

A score of clubs will throw between 60,000 and 80,000 liters of wine.

A security device has been prepared that exceeds a hundred personnel.

There will be showers at the Mercado de Abastos.

Jumilla will receive thousands of visitors tomorrow to enjoy the Great Wine Cavalcade as the culmination of the Harvest Festival.

A score of rocks will parade next to their floats and they will throw during a route of three hours of duration between 60,000 and 80,000 liters of wine, according to the Federation of Peñas.

The Cabalgata del Vino celebrates its 47th edition since it was organized for the first time in 1972. At 6:00 pm the training will take place and it will start at 7:00 pm. The course will be Avenida de Reyes Católicos, Murcia Avenue, Cánovas del Castillo Street, Valencia, Reyes Católicos and Juan XXIII to finish in Avenida de Levante.

Music, joy, fun and, above all, a lot of wine will flood everyone who approaches.

Boots, bottles, jars, buckets and even water guns and hoses will serve again to launch the most precious product on earth.

The shower service will be located as in previous years in the Food Market.

Preventive of security

The event will have, as usual, with more than a hundred people in its security preventive, organized by the City of Jumilla.

"Of all of them, almost half of the troops are security forces and bodies (Local Police and Civil Guard)", as explained by the Councilor for Citizen Security, Eugenio Aguado.

LaPolicía Local will have citizen security dogs and trained to locate and detect narcotic substances, as well as their unit of attestations, drogotest and breathalyzer.

There will be joint checks between Local Police and Civil Guard prior to the event in the entrances and exits of the city.

The area of ​​the route will be cut to traffic from 5 pm and Avenida de Levante from 4 pm.

The 112 will coordinate from the Local Police.

Red Cross, after contract with the City of Jumilla, will have a coordination point in its avenue de la Libertad facilities.

The ambulance UME 061 will be available throughout the day.

The assistance unit of the SUAP will also be pre-alerted, as well as those of the neighboring municipalities for any contingency that may arise.

For its part, Protección Civil will carry out cooperation and coordination functions with security forces and bodies.

LaGuardia Civil will have regular service units of the Jumilla post, citizen security units of the Cieza Company, as well as the Lince de Murcia unit.

There will also be units of Firefighters with a corporal responsible.

To this we must unite volunteers from the Federation of Peñas of the Vendimia Festival distributed throughout the tour of the Cabalgata.

Likewise, security measures will be adopted on the main roads and access to the ride of the Cavalcade to be blocked in order to prevent access by unauthorized vehicles.

In addition, the surroundings of the municipal swimming pools of the Polideportivo La Hoya will be monitored to prevent access to the closed facilities.
