Likewise, the median has been conditioned with artificial turf and the street furniture and signage has been renewed
The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González, presented this morning the new image of Liberty Avenue, once the renovation work has been completed.
They have been accompanied by the technical architect of the City Council, Carlos Chico, as well as Marcelo Ruiz, representing the company in charge of carrying out the works, Natural Engineering, Water and Environment SL
In the section that runs between the court building and the Plaza del Camionero Juan Soriano, the area that was unpaved has been renovated, where several spaces for children's games and biosaludable devices have been installed.
The children's rooms have an elastic tiled floor against falls and a multi-colored protection fence.
Likewise, different traditional enamel-based games have been painted on the pavement, and drinking fountains and two resting areas have been installed.
The sidewalk has been extended, extending the interior corridor, and the street furniture has been renewed with the placement of litter bins, including children, as well as benches and chairs.
The median has been conditioned with artificial grass in its entirety, from Avenida de la Asunción to Plaza del Camionero, and the median curbs of Sebastián Abarca Street, a pedestrian path linking Libertad with Reyes Católicos, have been removed.
All vertical signage has also been renewed.
The cost of the works, which have lasted four months, has been 275,000 euros.
Almost 100,000 euros invested in previous phases
The Avenida de las Libertad has already been subject to improvements recently.
In 2016, all the luminaires were replaced with other LEDs, a bicycle lane was built to cross it, accessibility was improved with the elimination of several architectural barriers and new street furniture was placed with new chairs and colored benches.
All this involved an investment of just over 97,000 euros.
