The local government presents the draft 2019 Budget with the canceled debt (23/01/2019)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the councilor of Finance, Alfonso Pulido, today presented the draft Municipal Budget 2019, which for the first time will not have a chapter on financial liabilities, having canceled the entire debt at the end of the past 2018. Last night it was handed over to the municipal groups and the non-attached councilor and soon it will be taken to full debate and approval if necessary.

The budget has a total amount of 20,516,965.60 euros, slightly higher than last year.

Juana Guardiola has described it as "exciting, since it represents the continuity of our legislative project and reflects the work that is being done in the municipality."

The mayor also stressed that "this Budget project again affects the entire municipality, neighborhoods, districts and districts, as well as citizen participation, whose games have increased again, and the commitment to the entire social fabric of Jumilla through its associations and collectives ".

The transfer chapter represents a total of 1,471,687.41 euros, increasing by 3% compared to 2018. Of this amount, 760,000 euros are destined for nominative grants and competitive competition to associations and collectives, as well as social assistance.

In investments, an expense of € 1,791,176.48 is expected, 2.77% more than in 2018 compared to the total.

One of the major items is the one for the start-up of the Wine Interpretation Center for 565,000 euros, with its own funds, "since we understand that it is a necessary project for the promotion of tourism in the municipality and that start already, although it does not mean that we will give up trying to get financing through other channels, "said the mayor.

It increases again the investment in districts, that this draft reaches the 200,000 euros, including a plan of asphalt in the same.

Once again, the items destined for improvements in accessibility, streets, squares and gardens, recovery of natural areas, administrative modernization or maintenance of educational centers, among others, are maintained or expanded.

In the section of expenses also increases the departure of personnel by 4.47% "with the aim of providing stability to the staff of the City Council and includes the increase in salaries and staff in 17 workers," said Alfonso Pulido .

In terms of income, the decline in IBI that has taken place during the previous years is reflected.

There is an increase in indirect taxes, "since some important project is foreseen", according to Alfonso Pulido, as well as that of state taxes, which increase by almost 600,000 euros.

"The contribution of the CARM is just over one million euros, insufficient amount", according to the mayor of the area, "and that encourages the City to continue having to finance skills that do not correspond."

The patrimonial income continues to be stable and includes transfers by the CARM for the POS works.
