Fifteen unemployed young people from Jumilla will specialize in furniture upholstery (25/01/2019)

Severa González visits the Employment Offices of Jumilla and Yecla, municipalities where a total of 62 unemployed will be hired this year to be part of these initiatives

A total of fifteen unemployed young people from Jumilla will specialize in furniture and mural upholstery thanks to the grant of 126,000 euros granted by the SEF to the municipality of this municipality to develop a mixed program of employment and training of one year.

Specifically, these under 30s, and enrolled in Youth Guarantee, will alternate training with work experience in an activity with special demand in Jumilla for the importance of the furniture sector.

After the program, the student-workers will be able to uncover, prepare, assemble and assemble furniture and mural upholstery.

Some of the occupations that they will be able to perform at the end of their training period will be those of furniture upholsterers, artisan upholsterers, vehicle upholsterers or entertainers.

This initiative, which has the co-financing of the European Social Fund, seeks to provide a job and training opportunity mainly to those profiles most in need of qualification.

These are young people who, in general, lack a qualification that facilitates their access to the labor market, and who will complete these projects by filling this gap thanks to obtaining a certificate of professionalism related to the sector in which they have been trained.

This mixed employment and training program is one of the nine supported financially by the SEF in the Region of Murcia, with total aid of 1.5 million euros.

There will be 177 under 30 unemployed people who will participate in projects of this type throughout 2019.

The SEF general director, Severa González, visited the SEF offices of Jumilla and Yecla today.

In the Jumilla, where the pre-selection of participants in these employment programs is carried out, and stressed that "there are young unemployed whose educational profile is far from what the current labor market requires, so they need a certificate of professionalism that adapts precisely to what companies require, and this specialty of upholstery is very required in Jumilla. "

In total, the City of Jumilla receives this year 464,000 euros in aid from the SEF to launch five employment programs, which will involve the remunerated hiring of 40 unemployed for a period of between six and twelve months.

Three programs in Yecla with 22 hirings

Severa Gonzalez highlighted in Yecla that in this municipality "22 unemployed people will be hired to integrate three projects that will benefit the consistory, specifically to strengthen their general administrative tasks, to provide multidisciplinary support to their public services and to prepare the report of a municipal employment plan.
