Renovation works for Santa Ana La Vieja and La Fuente de la Jarra are progressing (30/01/2019)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the councilors of Environment and Works, Juan Gil and Francisco González, today visited the improvement works of the recreational areas of Santa Ana La Vieja and La Fuente de la Jarra, which will mean the reform integral of both environments, emblematic areas of the municipality's natural heritage.

They have been accompanied by the head of the Environment and Forestry Service, Victoria Martínez, and Montes' technical engineer, Ángela Martínez.

Santa Ana La Vieja is carrying out an adaptation of the recreational area through the creation of playgrounds, the construction of benches for stone tables, the installation of boundary bollards and a security fence, as well as a control access from parking area and from the road.

Likewise, the barbecue area is being rebuilt to reduce the risk of fires, with a table and a toilet, in both cases adapted.

A path of access to all these points is also being created.

On the other hand, the road surface will be adapted, the parking spaces will be delimited and a roundabout will have been created, to which will be added a different natural vegetation plantation.

All vertical signage will be renewed and wooden container covers will be installed to deduce the visual impact.

In the area of ​​La Fuente de la Jarra, new banks will be built, the barbecues area will be reformed and a signage system will be installed to improve the interpretation of animal, botanical and forest diversity.

Likewise, a new railing will be built, the route will be redefined, the lighting will be adapted and natural native vegetation will be planted.

There will also be improvements in the parking area with the construction of a masonry wall and new signage.

The improvement of the Santa Ana La Vieja area will cost 99,580.42 euros and is being carried out by the company Talleres y Conducciones Juanito, SL, while the improvement of the Fuente de la Jarra area will cost 28,310 euros and is being carried out by the company Retamar Obras, Servicios y Medio Ambiente, SL

It will be financed through the Improvement Funds, which account for 15 percent of the income from the use of forests included in the Public Utility Catalog of the municipality of Jumilla.
