The works of the climbing wall and the change of lighting of the La Hoya Sports Center are underway (11/02/2019)

Work is already underway on the La Hoya sports hall, as well as the work to change the luminaires of the different sports facilities.

This morning they were visited by the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, accompanied by the councilors of Sports and Works, Juan Manuel García and Francisco González, as well as the head of the service, Francisco Crespo.

The climbing wall will be held in two phases, with a cost of 68,140.87 euros, the first of which is one of the Leader projects approved in the first call for grants for the period 2014-2020.

The second will be made through municipal funds with an amount of 60,458.15 euros, the installation having a total cost of 128,599.02 euros.

It is an installation of 13 meters high that is being built adjacent to the fronton court, on its back.

It will have a climbing wall with dimensions suitable for competition and a boulder, which will allow climbing without conventional protection materials.

It will be covered and partially closed laterally to protect it from atmospheric agents.

The access is planned from the La Hoya Sports Center, surrounding the tennis courts that are on its side.

It will occupy a space of almost 250 square meters and will have concrete bleachers.

On the other hand, work is being carried out to renew the lighting of football fields and sports courts for an amount of 146,043.96 euros.

The current projectors are being replaced by other more efficient LED technology, which in some cases will save up to 75% of energy.

Likewise, the restructuring of electric control and protection panels will be undertaken, as well as the adaptation to security regulations of the lighting tower towers of the soccer fields, both natural and artificial turf.

In addition, the athletics track already has material from the area of the pole vault, which has involved an investment of 14,000 euros and will allow when it is completed that the facility hosts competitions that include the practice of this discipline.
