The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Sports, José Antonio Jiménez, have reported on the different works that are being carried out to recover the grass of the Uva Monastrell football field, which is suffering from a black donut plague, which has particularly affected a corner of the southern area of the pitch.
"The plague had already been detected this month, against which it was acted on September 10 and 13 with treatments that were not effective when coinciding with the period of torrential rains," said the mayor of Sports.
The plague multiplied last week, so two new treatments were performed on days 18 and 19 and a scarified to increase efficacy.
Similarly, last August a white worm pest was cut with satisfactory results.
Both the mayor and the councilor of the area have stressed that the care of natural grass is the usual, "there is no abandonment", with the aim of being in the best possible state.
"This season it is expected that the Youth School First Soccer team will play matches on this pitch, in the absence of FC Jumilla," added Jiménez.
