Climbing equipment will be available and prior knowledge will not be necessary |
The Department of Sports has organized a weekend of open doors at the Municipal Rocódromo on October 19 and 20.
It was announced this morning by the Councilor for Sports, José Antonio Jiménez, accompanied by Vicente Guardiola, representing Grupo Hinneni, a club that will be in charge of the technical part of the activity.
People of any age may participate prior to registration in the Carlos García Sports Pavilion or during the open house, which will be held Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm.
"It will not be necessary to have prior knowledge or carry climbing equipment. There will be qualified monitors and the activity will have insurance," said the mayor of Sports.
To use the installation, from the completion of these opening activities, it will be necessary prior request in the Department of Sports, federative or occasional insurance, as well as own approved climbing equipment.
During the first months the payment of fees will not be necessary.
José Antonio Jiménez has also informed that the organization of courses of different levels is planned to be trained in climbing.
The Jumilla Municipal Rocódromo is 13 meters high and has been built adjacent to the pediment track of the La Hoya Sports Center, at its rear.
It has dimensions suitable for competition and a boulder, which will allow climbing without conventional protective materials.
It is covered and partially closed laterally to protect it from atmospheric agents.
It occupies a space of almost 250 square meters and inside it has concrete bleachers.
It was carried out in two phases, with a cost of 68,140.87 euros, the first one, being one of the Leader projects approved in the first call for aid for the 2014-2020 period, and the second through municipal funds with an amount of 60,458.15 euros, the installation having a total cost of 128,599.02 euros.
