The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Educational Centers, Lola Gómez, met yesterday in Murcia with the general director of the area, Verónica López, following the request of the mayor to meet with the Minister of Education, with the aim of have a first contact and transmit the investment needs of the different educational centers of the municipality and be able to plan them to be carried out during the current term.
Some of the priorities have been transmitted to him, such as undertaking investments in the sports courts due to the significant deterioration suffered by the existing ones, "the one of the Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, which is in a very bad state, being especially urgent," said the mayor.
Likewise, they have commented on the need to carry out a structural reform and the rehabilitation of the cover of the IES Archbishop Lozano, as well as the adaptation works of the current Prince Felipe School so that it can be used as an extension of the IES Infanta Elena, once it is put into March the new school of Infant and Primary Education.
The adaptation and improvement of the boilers of several centers as well or the inclusion of some of them in the Shadow Plan have also been relevant issues in today's meeting.
"We have made ourselves available to the Director General of Centers to collaborate to the extent requested by us in order to solve these important needs for schools in the municipality," said Juana Guardiola.
