Once the deadline for submitting proposals for Participatory Budgets 2020 has been 530, applications have been registered by citizens, "the highest number since the process is being carried out", as indicated by the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Belén López.
63% have been submitted by women and 37% by men.
"Of these, 272 are for investments in the municipality, 85 for districts and 173 are proposed for youth activities. The most demanded topics are improvements in lighting, accessibility, environment, street furniture and sports facilities. Young people again opt for the cinema, the discotheques for minors and the formation ", informed the mayor of the area.
The assemblies will begin next Monday, which will run through Sunday, December 15, all areas of the municipality with the objective of carrying out the process of debate and prioritization.
An initial vote will be taken and all results will be unified.
Proposals will be ordered, from highest to lowest, to be presented to the municipal technical staff and who will issue the technical reports on economic and technical feasibility.
The proposals of the program of activities for young people can be prioritized in any of the assemblies, although four special ones have been established for them from December 9 to 12 in different educational centers.
All youth between the ages of 12 and 17 may participate.
Voting will take place from January 23 to 29 in person and from 23 to 28 of the same month online, prior registration from 20 to 27. The final forum with the results will be offered on Thursday, February 20.
A total of 150,000 euros will go to investments in the urban area, 40,000 euros to districts and 20,000 to activities for young people.
