The Councilor for Sports, José Antonio Jiménez, today announced the team of winners of the 2019 edition of the Jumilla Sports Gala, following a jury decision made up of the staff of the Department of Sports of the City Council.
The delivery will take place next Thursday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Jumilla Cultural Space.
The Jumillano soccer player of Formentera, Carlos Terol, will be awarded the Sportsman of the Year Award.
The midfielder has become a reference player in Balearic football since last season he began this new adventure after passing through Eldense and after several years defending the Jumilla shirt.
The Hiking Group As Chotas Trail will receive the Club of the Year Award for its work in the popularization of mountain sports at an amateur level, although not forgetting its competitive and self-improvement.
It has multiplied its components, as well as the places and events to which it has taken the name of the municipality.
The seniority and experience will be represented this year by Blas Amante García, who will receive the One Life Dedicated to Sports Award, in recognition of a career that begins in football, through Jumilla CF and continues decades later as one of the greatest players age that is still active in the Local Futsal League.
Again, adapted sport will have its place in the gala, this time through Andrés Guardiola Olivares, who has been enjoying paddle tennis and wheelchair tennis for years, getting to participate in competitions nationwide, being part of Murcia Team tennis.
The experience in Hungary of María José Bernal, Vera Monreal, Eva Pérez and Carmen Valero with excellent results in the European Championship of Fit Kid will lead them to collect the 2019 Gesta Deportiva Award, which this time comes from the hand of these young promises of a sport that continues to gain followers in the municipality.
The Sports Event of the Year Award will go to the Dravet Challenge Foundation, which ventured into the organization of the 10 Healthy Km of Jumilla in search of giving social visibility to Dravet syndrome and obtaining resources for the study of the disease.
Aguas de Jumilla will be in this edition who receives the Collaborated Company Award for their continued support for the sporting events organized by the Department of Sports.
The 2019 Sports Gala will feature winners in these seven categories, as well as a Special Mention for which Jumilla Civil Protection volunteers have been chosen, whose contribution and work in all the sports events of the municipality is essential.
