The City Council of Jumilla has approved in the Governing Board to grant 13,000 euros in grants for international cooperation to be distributed among four organizations, once the competitive concurrence process has ended.
As reported by the councilor of the area, Lola Gómez, "as in the previous two years in which these grants have been called two different lines were established."
One for local projects to carry out awareness raising and education actions in the municipality of Jumilla in order to create a solidarity awareness and generate personal and social changes that enable fair international relations. In this sense, 3,000 euros have been granted to the NGO Smile Smile Saharahui for your project 'Holidays in Peace'.
There was a second line for international projects whose objective is to meet the basic needs of disadvantaged groups or areas in less developed countries, as well as to carry out emergency actions in cases of disasters that cause humanitarian crises.
In this case, 4,500 euros have been granted to Acción Sin Fronteras for an economic project of women in situations of abuse due to gender violence, vulnerability or poverty to be carried out in a Mexican state;
Delwende is approved 5,000 euros for maintenance of the medical-social center of Atakpamé (Togo);
and the Association of Assistance to Children of Bolivia, a total of 500 euros for a primary care project for children and young people in the street, Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
