The Hypnos Awards 2019 teach the best values ​​of the Jumillana society (20/01/2020)

Today the ceremony of the Hypnos 2019 Awards has been celebrated, the highest institutional award granted by the Jumilla City Council and that recognizes seven categories.

The Labor Sports Award has been collected by Avelino González, president of the Aspajunide Sports Club, accompanied by players Santi García and Juan Antonio Artacho.

The great work of the association in the use of sport as an integrative and leisure tool for its users has been recognized.

José Tévar has received the Dedication to Culture award, Jumillano historically related to Holy Week as a designer of a multitude of banners, robes and even thrones that are already part of the local processional heritage.

PasDulce has been awarded the Business Development Award, which has been received by its manager, Julián Martínez, as a representative of a family business specializing in the manufacture of traditional pastry with more than half a century of history that has adapted to the times and evolve to Become a reference in the sector.

The recognition as Ambassador of Jumilla has been taken by Salvador Moreno Pérez, an architect, graduated in Philosophy, with an extensive legacy of works distributed throughout Spain and numerous awards, both literary and architectural.

During his speech he recited three poems that he has linked with his thanks.

The award for Equality has been collected by María del Carmen Herrero Alcalde, after her extensive career dedicated to strengthening values ​​to achieve the same rights and opportunities for people throughout her life as a professional at the Jumilla Social Services Center, from which She became coordinator, as well as outside of it, in an altruistic way.

The Human Values ​​Defense Prize has been collected by Andrés Carlos López Herrero, professor of the IES Infanta Elena, awarded during the last years at the national level for different projects in which values ​​and teaching resulting in educational excellence.

He has dedicated the recognition "to all those teachers and professors who dedicate their lives to teaching others".

The Special Mention 2019 has been for the Coral Jumilla Canticorum, which this past year has celebrated the twentieth anniversary since its foundation and has been working for choral music all this time.

It has been picked up by its president, José Bernal Esteve, who has remembered the trajectory of the group and has remembered those who are no longer there, but at some point they were key pieces of the coral.

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, has pointed out that with these awards we seek to "make known, make visible and value all our people, which is the best we have. They get us to look at them because they are distinguished in some way special, without expecting anything in return. "

Finally, the mayor stressed that "together we will continue to make Jumilla a better municipality, I have full confidence in it."

The act has ended with a surprise performance by the Coral Jumilla Canticorum, who has performed on the stage the theme 'I would not hesitate', directed by Isidro Alemañ and with Marisol Corredor at the piano.

The jury of the Hypnos Awards 2019 has been chaired by the mayor, Juana Guardiola Verdú, and composed of María José García Tomás, José Carrión Ortega, Lucía Jiménez Iniesta, José Francisco Poveda Martínez and Lidia María Gómez Gómez, acting as secretary the head of the Department of Culture, Andrés Martínez.
