IU Verdes Jumilla denounces the marginalization in investments of the majority of districts (19/02/2020)

After analyzing the 2015-2020 period, obtaining the information from the town hall's own website and once since almost everything that is going to be done this year is decided, we can verify the marginalization of investments to most of the districts.

There is also something worrying, while there are districts in which investments exceed the average of those made in the urban area, in others they are well below.

While the district of La Estacada receives sufficient investments and more than according to the homes in the nucleus (approximately 50) in the districts of La Alquería, Fuente del Pino, Cañada del Trigo and Torre del Rico, the money invested is very much below the one invested in that first district, although they have many more homes in their population centers (100,90, 80 and 70 homes respectively).

From Izquierda Unida Verdes de Jumilla it is not taken into account for these comparisons the houses in scattered near the aforementioned districts, but if taken into account, the differences would be even greater since in the vicinity of the four largest districts there are between 40 and 70 homes near each of those districts farthest from the Jumilla.

The remaining districts do not have single population centers and suffer double discrimination since investments are still much smaller.

We talk about Encebras, La Raja, La Zarza and Román where there is hardly any investment.

All these data do not take into account investments in certain rural roads since if this were done there would still be more discrimination in some cases.

Nor are investments in infrastructure taken into account that are for all Jumillanos such as the center of road education, the botanical garden and the velodrome, if they were taken into account, the differences would be deepened.

It should be borne in mind that in the districts after the cadastre review, in most cases, an amount of IBI is paid much higher than what was paid and in many cases, the investments are below the average of the municipality with respect to to the payment of taxes.

The districts cannot and should not be

financing the rest of the urban center when those who live in them have many disadvantages with respect to others.

The PSOE government team does not invest in the districts what it should, it even uses participatory budgets to extend terms and shape the neighbors, the neighbors propose and decide amounts of 10,000 euros for between two or three districts and then the PSOE makes investments of up to 200,000 euros in two sections of street in the Estacada.

Since the formation of lefts, it has always been in favor of the majority of the investments being decided by the neighbors in what formerly worked, the local council of neighborhoods and districts, which both PSOE and PP have always considered something that hindered to decide arbitrarily what they invested and spent, to the taste of who is in each government team.
