At the end of February, Jumilla has 107 unemployed fewer than in the previous month, the figure being 237 people lower than in the same month of the previous year.

It is about 19.7% of the active population.

This variation with respect to January has been quite egalitarian because in female unemployment it has fallen by 50 women compared to a decrease of 57 men, although female unemployment remains the majority, with 62.98% of the total.

By academic levels, the bulk of unemployment continues to focus on the levels of general education (Primary and Secondary) being much less significant in professional education and especially in higher education cycles.

By age, youth unemployment has decreased slightly from 10.90% to 10.31%.

The majority group continues to be those over 45 years old with 49.11%.

By economic sectors it is still the service sector that brings together a greater number of people in search of employment representing more than half of the total with 53.54%.

It is followed in percentage by agriculture, which decreases from 19.52% to 17.67%.

The month of February 2020 has maintained the trend of the last year as a month of reduction of unemployment although it has traditionally been of increase, having broken this trend only in the years 2017 and 2019. The biggest decline has been mainly in the agricultural sector.

The Councilor for Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, stressed that "the policies of the Government of Spain, such as raising the minimum wage, are giving security and stability."
