City Council and Aguas de Jumilla improve hydraulic infrastructure prior to the execution of the Asphalting Plans (04/03/2020)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Works and Urban Planning, Francisco González, and the manager of Aguas de Jumilla, Manuel Rayo, have visited today the works that are being carried out in the avenue of Reyes Catolicos, in the section between Fueros and Avenida de la Asunción, one of those included in the Asphalting Plans.

Prior to the execution of the plan, the City Council and the joint venture Aguas de Jumilla coordinate to carry out the appropriate inspection procedures of the existing hydraulic infrastructures in the affected streets, in order to detect possible renovations in the most deteriorated sections and with it reduce possible incidents and conditions once the planned asphalting works are executed.

Aguas de Jumilla is in the process of renovating the hydraulic infrastructures of both drinking water and sewerage in the streets of San Blas throughout its length, Zorrilla, Virgen de Fátima-Cura Abellán, Reyes Católicos and Calvario.

The hydraulic renovation plan has also been extended to streets in the districts of La Alquería, Fuente del Pino, where hydraulic renovation works have already been carried out.

The cost of these previous actions is 140,000 euros.

Asphalting Plans are in the bidding process and will involve an investment in the streets of the municipality of more than 600,000 euros, according to budget, all with own resources.

The 2020 Asphalting Plan in the urban area includes 12 sections:

-Avenida de Reyes Católicos (between Avenida la Asunción and Calle Fueros)

- Vicente Medina Street (between Santo Tomás and Infante don Fadrique)

-Isaac Peral Street (between Vicente Medina and Fuensanta)

-Saavedra Fajardo Street (between Infante Don Fadrique and Isaac Peral)

-Step Street (between High Steps and Calvary)

-Duque Street (between Canónigo Lozano and Yecla Avenue)

-Cura Abellán Street (between Fatima and Cervantes)

-Sagasta Street (between Cura Abellán and Canónigo Lozano)

-Calvario Street (between Cruces and Amargura)

-Marchante Street (corner with Tornero)

-Street Zorrilla (between Paz and Hernando de Nuño)

-San Blas Street (complete, with sidewalks included)

In addition, different sections of three of the districts that have an urban area will be conditioned:

-The Farmhouse (four zones)

-Fuente del Pino (Laundry, down to the laundry and sidewalk)

-Cañada del Trigo (perimeter church and streets Mayor, Sol, Nueva and other sections)

The asphalting of the Cuesta Puntero, Calvario streets, in different sections, from Amargura to Pasos, as well as the street that links the headquarters of the Torre del Rico with the tower were proposed as improvements historic and the church square of the Cañada del Trigo.

To this we must add the Asphalting Plan in the district of La Estacada, which includes renovation of infrastructure and sidewalks, as well as the second phase of Álvarez Quintero street.

As in the plans made in previous years, technical criteria are taken into account to choose the sections of the streets to be conditioned, so that the areas that need it most are acted upon.
