Update and reminder of measures against the expansion of the coronavirus (14/03/2020)

The Mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, today offered a new press conference in which she updated and recalled the measures that are being taken in coordination with the Government of Spain and the Region of Murcia and that affect the municipality to avoid the coronavirus expansion:

-Suspend the municipal authorizations of occupation of the public highway with tables and chairs, granted to bars, restaurants, cafes and similar establishments in this town, from today and for at least 14 days or until the lifting of this is ordered measure.

-Suspend the installation of stalls and shops for street vending in the weekly markets of this town, from today and for at least 14 days, or until the lifting of this measure is ordered.

Maximum entry restriction at the Roque Baños Sociocultural Center.

-Closure of all educational centers, institutes, schools, Music School and Conservatory, nursery schools and kindergartens.

Likewise, Juana Guardiola, has asked the public to comply with the guidelines and has reported different recommendations.

-Isolation for 14 days for those who have arrived from other risk areas and contact 112 if there are symptoms or doubts.

-Isolation in homes for the general population.

Only essential outings.

-Do not store food, since the supply is guaranteed.

-Attentive to official information to avoid misinformation and prevent the spread of hoaxes.

Waiting for extraordinary measures to be taken when decreeing the state of alarm.

Finally, the mayor has called for calm and responsibility and has had words of thanks for "the health personnel, who are redoubling efforts, as well as for local and state security agents, public officials, who are at service to all, and all those who are making essential services possible for the population. Let's stay at home, I ask for collaboration so that we can overcome this health emergency as soon as possible. "
