The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, today invited the residents of Jumilla to keep "the illusion of Easter" at home through different activities adapted to the Alarm State.
The Central Board of Brotherhoods, the Cristo de la Sangre Drums Association, the educational centers, the parish priests of the town, the music bands, the Band of Bugles and Drums Our Lady of Lamentations, Armaos del Cristo, are collaborating for this El Prendimiento, Coral Canticorum, Civil Protection and the media.
A different Easter that is lived from home, "since chance has wanted us to not be able to enjoy our first year as we wanted after the declaration of International Tourist Interest", stated the first local authority.
The musical groups of the municipality and the Armaos del Cristo will take "the sounds of our Easter" to the streets of Jumilla through two Civil Protection vehicles, so that each day a different band will participate.
Likewise, on the morning of Palm Sunday, a Civil Protection car will broadcast the message of Jesus in La Burrica, recreating the Las Palmas procession, as well as Holy Wednesday with El Prendimiento.
The Central Brotherhood Board will publish a virtual Way of the Cross on social networks this Friday at 9:00 p.m.
The Cristo de la Sangre Drums Association will perform Tamboradas from the balconies, in collaboration with the schools for the children's Friday of Dolores.
In addition, the churches and convents of the municipality will turn the bells on Palm Sunday at 8:00 pm to remember the arrival of the Christ in Jumilla and at midnight on Saturday of Glory to celebrate the Resurrection.
Even on Holy Tuesday night you can listen to the Touch of Silence from windows and balconies with the collaboration of the music bands and the bugle and drum band Our Lady of Lamentations.
TeleJumilla will replace in the usual days and times of each procession those of previous years;
Siete Días Jumilla will do the same with El Prendimiento and the Concierto de Jueves Santo on its radio station and will publish a special edition in its printed edition of Jueves Santo;
and Cope Jumilla will increase its La Hora Cofrade program from tomorrow, which will become daily until Good Friday.
"In short, a way for us to feel close and that we somehow notice that it is Easter in Jumilla," said the mayor, encouraging citizens to "put the usual hangings on the balconies of their houses so that we can show that these days are special. In the City Council it will also be done ".
Likewise, Juana Guardiola, thanked everyone for their involvement "that will make this different Easter possible".
