The month of May ends with a decrease in unemployment in Jumilla of 197 people (08/06/2020)

| The agri-food sector, but especially construction have been the recipients of almost all the employment generated | The number of people looking for a job in Jumilla at the end of May has decreased by 197 people compared to the previous month, of which 110 are men and 87 are women.

The total figure has stood at 1,689 people, 19% of the active population. The agricultural and agri-food sector, but above all construction, have been the recipients of almost all the employment generated this month.

Construction significantly reduces its weight in unemployment, going from 11.08% to 9.35%.

That of agriculture is also reduced, from 13.8 to 13%, with the service sector again accumulating the highest percentage of unemployment. By age, youth unemployment has decreased almost a percentage point, from 10.29% to 9.30%.

The majority group continues to be the over-45s group with almost half of all unemployment, 49.73%. The Councilor for Economy and Employment, Juan Gil, has indicated that "given the current situation, it is about data that must be viewed positively, although we must continue working with all the measures that we can make available to citizens to continue improving the numbers".
