The interior rooms are being tiled due to the deterioration of the walls caused by the animals themselves.

Likewise, improvement work is being carried out on the electrical and plumbing installation, as well as on different damage to the use of the building. The works have been visited today by the mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the councilor for Works and Services, Francisco González, and the councilor for Animal Welfare, Pilar Martínez.

"These are necessary improvements for a facility that had not been renovated since its inauguration in 2009, for which we have had the collaboration of the 4 Patas Jumilla Association, which has provided the tiles," they explained.

The works are being carried out by municipal personnel. The Municipal Animal Shelter was built through Plan E and had a cost of 217,000 euros.

The plot has a total area of ??1,333 square meters and has a lodging and recreation area for animals and an administrative area.

It is the 4 Patas Jumilla Association that is in charge of its management, through an annual agreement with the Jumilla City Council, which this year is 43,000 euros.
