Intergenerational meeting on the Perfect Balance, the new documentary spot of the CRDOP Jumilla (01/12/2020)

"Thank you for being here, for adapting to these new technologies, for teaching us, for your respect, for keeping this treasure, for being sustainable before it was a fashion, for transmitting the values ??of respect for the environment ...

Thank you, We have found The Perfect Balance.

You are, we are and we will be DOP Jumilla and we toast all of you.

Cheers! ".

This is how the president of the PDO Jumilla, Silvano García, said goodbye to this intergenerational meeting, which took place this morning in digital form, and which can be consulted through the YouTube platform of the "Vinos de Jumilla" channel.'The Perfect Balance' is the name presented by the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Jumilla as a description of the personality of its wines that are more respectful and consistent with the land from which they come.

Consciousness in the coexistence between the land, the climate and the vine, with the human factor and the surrounding landscape, is presented as the pure essence of the Jumilla PDO wines. The idea of ??this digital event, in order to safeguard the health of our elders, was to bring together winemakers and winegrowers, from various generations: grandparents, grandchildren, parents, who share that respect for the Earth.

The importance of sharing knowledge, which goes far beyond technique because human values ??are shared, with which all the wineries of the Jumilla PDO feel identified.

Hence the reason for this meeting: to honor the generosity of our elders, often family members, who have instilled in us the importance of maintaining that perfect balance that is mentioned in the documentary, which is nothing more than telling everyone our true essence ."That is why today we wanted to take the winegrowers out of the vineyard, to pay them a tribute in the form of our own speech, which is what we have intrinsic since we were little: that of the encounter between nature and human beings, which provoke that perfect balance in our territory .

'The perfect balance' is a recording work of many months, compiled in a few minutes of a documentary spot, and that summarizes the work over thousands of years in the territory of the PDO Jumilla between the viticulturist and the vineyard.

This campaign serves to put ecological cultivation in Jumilla has always valued, not as a fashion, and to transmit the tradition and essence of the coexistence between the winegrower and the characteristic landscape of our land, through the years, up to the present day ", commented the President of the PDO Jumilla, Silvano García.Accompanying the president, five couples of young and old wine growers from wineries who have wanted to put a face to this interrelation have been located; Bodegas viña Elena with María Burruezo, his fourth generation and Miguel, a 64-year-old viticulturist about to retire, Bodega Madrid Romero, with Rosana and Mariano Madrid, father and daughter managers of the winery, Bodegas Carchelo, with Pepe and Helio Abellán, grandfather and grandson, and Bodegas Luzón, Cristóbal Abellán and Nuria Moreno united by a knowledge transmission link.

Also present were the director of the Documentary Spot, Juan Palao, and David and Francisco Gómez, grandfather and grandson, actors of the documentary spot The Perfect Equilibrium. All of them exemplify, along with Silvano García and Margarita Abellán, that transmission and the importance of sharing and learning the values ??of respect for the Earth and the Environment, from generation to generation, as the best inheritance to achieve The Perfect Balance.
