The socialist municipal group presented a motion in support of self-employed workers in the region (15/06/2010)

Municipal Group PSOE in Jumilla has filed a motion for treatment in the next plenary session on support for self-employed workers in the Region of Murcia.

This motion explains the contents of the bill recently approved for social protection of self and may benefit more than 155,000 self-employed in the region.

Thus, the Socialists propose, on one hand require the Regional Government decided to support creating a program and financial aid for self-employment in the Region of Murcia and by the Regional Government, will promote access to resources for training of employed workers in the terms to be agreed with the representative associations of self-employment.

In the text of the motion argue that self-employed saw their historical claims are beginning to realize the June 28, 2007 when the Congress of Deputies approved the Statute of this group.

As with all advances in the rights of Spanish society had to be a Socialist Government that will star.

And is it right, like the protagonist of Dead Souls, Nikolai Gogol's novel, has used the aspirations of the self-interest by voting, but without giving them three million people citizenship rights.

The statute defined the self as the natural person who carries on a regular basis, personally, directly, on their own and outside the field of management and organization of a third, economic or professional activity for profit, give or occupation employees.

But more important than the definition, was the recognition of the right of self-employed persons to equality before the law and non-discrimination, free choice of profession or trade, security and health at work, and reconciling family life and professional.

And the result of this climate of dialogue with stakeholders, is the milestone has been achieved with the approval by the Congress of Deputies of the bill for social protection by closure of the self-employed, whose most prominent measure is to be able to access unemployment benefits for 12 months.

In the Region of Murcia, more than 155,000 self-employed can benefit from this new social development initiative of the Government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

On the other hand, as the Socialists "the Regional Government does not understand that the self are key to the development of regional economy, allowing Murcia has led in the first quarter of this year the biggest drop in self-employed workers in Spain, having them subjected to a total abandonment does not propose economic and social aid measures complementary to those adopted by the Government of Spain and thus prevent the destruction of these businesses. "

Finally Jumilla indicate that there are about 8,500 independent members to the various regimes that are also affected by this situation.
