On Friday, an exhibition of photographs of Oscar Vaillard is inaugurated (02/11/2016)

Friday at 20 pm, the Councillor for Culture, Pilar Martínez, will open an exhibition of photographs of Oscar Vaillar which will run until the end of the year in the living temporary exhibitions section Ethnography Museum Jerónimo Molina, in square Constitution.

It is 40 images of Jumilla during the 20s of the last century that show the social life, traditions, monuments, Easter, jobs or inaugurations of the time.

Part of the collection of glass negatives that yielded few years ago Jumilla, her daughter Amelia Vaillard.

Vaillard Oscar was born on French soil in 1859, but labor issues for a long time lived in Spain and, among other places, in Jumilla.

It was one of the great pioneers of photography in the Levant and even the film industry.

In his photographs they do not call your attention to the great monuments of walking places, but the people who inhabit it.

The collaboration of their descendants allowed the location of more than 600 glass plates (original negatives) of Vaillard that were preserved in Jumilla since 1931.
