The City Council will request a grant to the FEMP for gender mainstreaming campaign (17/01/2017)

The Government Board agreed yesterday to request a grant to the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces to facilitate the implementation of actions that promote gender mainstreaming in local plans and the reconciliation and co-responsibility of women and men in personal life, Family and professional.

This is a grant of 15,000 euros to be used in a campaign called 'Jumilla shares' aimed at making the importance of sharing the time and balance between domestic and professional work visible, at all times making visible the need for an integral change in the stereotypes of Gender equality and the achievement of effective equality in this area.

It aims to reach the entire population, performing a comprehensive work in various sectors to generate a change of traditional roles and promote real co-responsibility.

The majority of the segments of the population have been women between the ages of 25 and 50, children and adolescents, "but it is necessary to reach the male population and women over 50, a population with stereotypes highly differentiated by gender and All in terms of co-responsibility, "said the councilor of the area, Salvi Pérez.

There would be a great campaign addressed to the general population through all the media for five months where it would reflect the need and importance of being co-responsible in the family and domestic.

Workshops and talks will be held with neighborhood associations, senior citizens 'clubs, parents' associations and sports associations.

Other agreements

Related to Social Policy, Nueva Cocina Mediterránea was determined as the most advantageous offer for the contract of home catering services for seniors and dependents and an emergency aid expenditure of 900 euros was approved.

On the other hand, it was agreed to modify the list of buildings in the fuel supply contract for the heating of municipal buildings to exclude the Mariano Suárez School, which after the works will no longer be necessary.

Finally, the files of the administrative contract for the leasing of printers for the City Hall and services of advising and legal defense began.
