The criteria for admission of students from Junior to High School for the 2017-18 course are approved (20/03/2017)

The Governing Council has approved the schooling decree that regulates everything related to the admission process for the 2017/2018 academic year, in which a scale for the selection of centers for students in the Region of Murcia is being inaugurated.

The process will begin on March 23rd and will end on April 5, when it will be possible to apply for a place in Children 0-3 years and 3-6 years, Primary, Compulsory Secondary and Bachillerato, and the centers where they can To carry out these studies are community child schools, municipal schools for the Education Plan of the Ministry of Education, public schools for children and primary schools, concerted schools and secondary schools.

As a novelty of this course, all parents can freely choose any school or institute in their municipality, as it extends the unique district to all municipalities in the Region.

In addition, mothers will be able to claim their pregnancy for large family counts and, in the case of preterm infants attending children, parents will be able to distinguish between the legal age of the birth date and the age corrected by grade Of maturity that the child presents.

Similarly, single-parent families will have two points.

The decree includes a series of measures to facilitate the reconciliation of professional and family life, such as granting 10 points for having a brother in the same school and 2 for each of the following.

In addition, the new scale also grants additional points to large families: 1 for a large general family (3 children) and 2 for the special category (more than 3 children).

Also, the criterion of family income is taken into account: in children's schools 0-3 years with between 0.5 and 5 points and in the rest of lessons up to 0.25, in both cases depending on the level of income.

Other significant criteria of scoring are the address or place of work in the school zone of the center (5 points);

Disabled student (4 points);

And disabled parents or siblings (0.5 to a total of 2 points).

Among the priorities for assigning students to the center, attention is given to the need for school transportation, to the attention of the high-ability student, to the change of address for work reasons or to the result of acts of gender-based violence.

In the same way, each municipality will set up various school fees to supervise the admission process.

In these commissions will be represented the centers, the town councils and the parents' associations, always with the supervision of the Inspection of Education.

In addition, the decree states that each center determines in consultation process which will be the point of free choice, so as to assess the circumstances of their own request to apply for their places: being a former student's child, bilingual enrollment, proximity To the center or choice of center in the first option, among other options.
