The Plan of Exhibition Spaces of Culture takes to Jumilla the works of the artist Ndukwe Ogwe (09/07/2017)

The Plan of Exhibition Spaces of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment adds to its program the exhibition 'Travel in-certain', by the artist Ndukwe Ogwe, who after being exposed last June in Santomera, now arrives at the House Of the Artisan of Jumilla.

The exhibition project can be visited on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., until August 27.

The director general of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA), Marta López-Briones, stressed that this initiative launched by the regional government "strengthens the creation, talent and new ideas around art that are Produces in the Region, which gives visibility to the works of local artists and boosts and increases the activity of the municipal cultural halls. "

López-Briones indicated that, on this occasion, "a social issue is addressed through art focused on the migratory processes that are taking place at the present time".

The artist Ndukwe Ogwe proposes in this composition a vision of the refugee crisis through different vignettes.

The head of the ICA recalled that "since this new initiative was launched a month and a half ago there are eight exhibitions that have been organized in different parts of the Region of Murcia and until the end of the year can see the work of a Total of 60 artists in a score of municipalities ".

Trajectory

Ndukwe Arisa was born in Nigeria, where he studied at the Institute of Management and Technology of Enugu and obtained the Higher National Diploma (HND) in the specialty of Graphic and Applied Arts.

Between 1992 and 1998, he worked as a draftsman for the newspaper 'Sunray' in his country.

He was the winner of the 'Dr.

Nnamdi Azikiwe 'to the best sketcher of the year 1992/1993 awarded by the Nigerian Media Merit Award.

After a stage in Norway as a portraitist, he settled in Murcia, where he resumed his artistic activity through cartoons and cartoons.

In 2016, and with the humanitarian crisis in Syria, Ndukwe Ogwe collaborates with Fundación CEPAIM in the realization of various artistic activities.

He emphasizes his participation in the exhibition 'RefugiArte conmigo', at the University of Murcia, and in the framework of the exhibition 'Passengers', he performs and exposes some of his pieces showing the problematic of refugees.

At present, Ndukwe Ogwe works on his latest project, which will be exhibited at the 'La Estación' Art Center in the borough of Beniaján.
