The Board of Governors held yesterday agreed to declare that the City of Jumilla lacks the power to authorize the burning of agricultural waste, an agreement contrary to the instructions given to citizens by the Directorate General of Natural Environment conducive to the city councils who proceed to this authorization.
This agreement has been adopted, according to the councilman of Environment and Agriculture, Juan Gil Mira, "based on the arguments of law collected by the technicians of this City Council, coinciding both reports in which the authority to authorize the burning of agricultural waste , with the regulations in hand, is the competence of the Autonomous Community, as it has been so far.
The Governing Board also agreed to transfer to the Autonomous Community through the Single Window, all the documents that have been presented in this City by citizens of Jumilla requesting authorization for the burning of agricultural waste, as the General Directorate Natural Environment is competent to process this authorization.
Other agreements
The Governing Board also approved the agreement for the direct granting of a subsidy of 10,000 euros to Cáritas Jumilla.
Likewise, the mercantile Ferrovial Services was awarded the service contract for the operation of the municipal pools, both summer and heated, for a cost of 380,644.73 euros.
