The City Council cleans the uncontrolled landfills of La Perlita road and the Barranco de Villena (26/10/2017)

The City Council of Jumilla continues to work steadily in the elimination of uncontrolled landfills in the municipality of Jumilla.

Yesterday we proceeded to the cleaning of the existing ones in the way of the Perlita and in the Ravine of Villena.

"The objective of Local Government is the total elimination of all these unhealthy areas by putting the necessary measures, through campaigns and cleaning itself," said Councilor for the Environment, Juan Gil.

The abandonment, dumping or uncontrolled disposal of waste can end in a fine of 901 to 45,000 euros.

Juan Gil added that: "These types of uncontrolled landfills pose a risk to public health and a source of contamination, to which it is necessary to join their visual discomfort, so we appeal to citizen responsibility with the aim of improving our spaces natural ".

Likewise, the mayor of the area has requested citizen collaboration in the detection of unhealthy spots.
