The squares of San Juan and Manuel Azaña will become open and functional spaces (20/02/2018)

The Governing Board held this morning has approved the safety and health plans of the renovation works of the San Juan and Manuel Azaña squares, which will begin shortly.

These are two of the actions to be carried out with the Treasury surplus.

Both squares will become open and functional spaces.

In the Plaza de San Juan, the perimeter stone curb of the fountain will be removed and the exterior wall of the fountain will be conditioned, cleaning up the affected parts and lowering the manholes.

The albero will be replaced throughout the garden and the sandbox will be eliminated.

Vegetable soil, safety pavement and artificial turf will be placed.

Likewise, banks and paper mills will be replaced and children's games will be installed.

Rocky stone with cacti will also be placed and a climbing rose will be planted in the existing iron arches.

The winning company is Natural Engineering, Water and Environment for an amount of 57,000 euros, with the deadline of two months from the start of the works.

In Manuel Azaña Square the stone will be removed from the interior roads, a new curb will be placed and the exterior walls will be reformed.

In addition, artificial turf, red marmolina will be installed and the existing fence will be painted.

New luminaires, bins and banks will be located.

Rock stone with cacti will be placed, diverse bushes will be planted and the hedge will be replaced.

The company Ingeniería Natural Agua y Medio Ambiente has been hired to carry out the remodeling of the Manuel Azaña Garden for an amount of 41,050 euros and a deadline of two months.

Other agreements

The Governing Board has approved to contract the reform of the traffic light installation of the intersection of the avenues of the Casón with Our Lady of the Assumption, at the same time that the works of renovation of the POS infrastructures in this area are carried out.

The electrical works will cost 4,381.11 euros and will be carried out by the Murciana de Tráfico company, while civil works will be borne by Ago Irrigations for 2,526.60 euros.

On the other hand, the waste transport services contract was filed with the Ulea Treatment Center as a result of the commissioning on February 2 of the Jumilla Transfer Station by the Consortium for Solid Waste Management of the Region of Murcia.

In proposal of expenses 900 euros are approved to cover urgent and extraordinary aid.

It is approved that the City Council will adhere to the agreement of the City Council of Murcia for the granting of the Favorite Son of Murcia to Andrés Hernández Ros, Francisco Salzillo Alcaraz and Alejandro Valverde Belmonte.

Similarly, the City of Jumilla adheres to the congratulations on the part of the chief colonel of the fifth zone of the Civil Guard, Jesus Arribas, to the head of the Local Police of Jumilla, José David Martínez, for the research carried out between the 1st of June and October 10, 2017, resulting in the arrest of the alleged perpetrators of different crimes.
