The Albergue del Carche has made improvements after its renovation (23/02/2018)

The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, the Councilor for Forestry, Juan Gil, and the Forestry Technical Engineer, Angela Martinez, visited this morning the Albergue del Carche, an installation that has been recently renovated and is intended for groups of hikers and mountaineers , located in a privileged enclave as is the Regional Park of El Carche de Jumilla.

The works have served to improve the functionality and habitability of the building, according to the use for which it is intended.

The floor of the entire ground floor has been renovated through rustic ceramic paving, as well as the lining of the walls of the woodshed with plaster.

In the kitchen, new furniture, tiles, granite countertop, extractor, sink and laundry have been placed.

It has been carried out the construction of a wine rack and dispenser of brick and oak wood, as well as a running bench and seat in oak in the fireplace area.

The equipment of the bathrooms has also been changed and the metal bunk beds have been replaced by bunk beds made of oak wood.

Likewise, the switches and plugs have been renewed and new luminaires have been installed throughout the hostel.

A metal shed has been built for storage of gas bottles and gas water heater, extractor and diesel generator set for electric power has been supplied.

The carpentry of windows and doors has been replaced by others made of oak, including the repair and varnishing of wooden interior doors and the installation of new locks for all windows.

Different painting works have also been carried out, such as the exterior locksmith's and the ramp's railing.

In addition, the roof has been restored, replacing the broken tiles and relocating the moves.

A pellet stove has been installed as a preventive measure to the forest fires and the corresponding extinguishers have been placed, as well as a poster of the rules of use.

The amount of the works has been of 42,500 euros charged to the Improvement Fund, which is fed by 15% of the value of the forest exploitation or of the yields obtained by occupations or other activities developed in the municipally owned forests and which are entered to the Autonomous Community having to revert in improvements related to the own mount.

In order to use the installation, the application must be made through the General Registry of the City Council.

The price according to the current ordinance is 5.05 euros per person per day, with a deposit of 150 euros to guarantee the correct use of the property.
