The mayor of Jumilla, Juana Guardiola, and the Councilor for Education, Pilar Martinez, have transferred to the general director of Educational Centers, Remedios Lajara, the investment needs presented by the different schools in the municipality.
The meeting was held in Murcia and has also served as the first contact of the councilor of the area, who has recently assumed these powers.
Regarding the construction of the new Príncipe Felipe school, the general director informed that she is in the period of providing documentation of the winning company and that the works will begin shortly.
"We have reminded him of the importance that the old school has to adapt to the needs of IES Infanta Elena, since it will serve as an extension of the same", says Juana Guardiola.
Likewise, the need to replace the sports courts of Carmen Conde and Nuestra Señora de la Asunción schools with new ones was emphasized.
Of this last center, the general director showed his intention that it is this summer when the works of construction of the new dining room are realized.
Another issue that was asked for speed is the placement of a shadow in the courtyard of the Miguel Hernández School, as approved in the January plenary session.
"We need your answer as soon as possible because if it is not assumed by the Ministry of Education, it will have to be carried out by the City Council," the mayor indicated.
He was also asked about the Law of Gratuity of Books with the aim of having a report of non-duplicity that allows the City of Jumilla to manage its Bank of Books.
