The Association of Artisans of Jumilla has new board chaired by Eduardo Manuel Gea (16/09/2010)

Artisans Association of Jumilla has renewed the Board.

On the 9th of September saw the election and renewal of the charges, according to what will mark his statutes, which must be done every two years.

The new president is Eduardo Manuel Gea Martinez, according to reports from this group.

Is a local organization composed of eighty members from individual artisans and craft enterprises.

Membership is open to all those who as a hobby, craft or just a taste for things well done, have always loved now or begin to appreciate the craftsmanship in its various manifestations.

The association is headquartered in Artisan House on Calle del Rico 12, a sixteenth century manor house where tradition and modernity coexist in an exemplary synthesis, in order to preserve the past of our traditional skills and give them the future they deserve without giving new technologies, renovated offices and original ideas and fresh.

Calling the young craftsman is one of its primary objectives.

The other, offering crafts lovers from other cities and communities the great flow of energy that the craft traditions have made for centuries in Jumilla.

Workshops, exhibitions, days of living, contact with other partnerships, product sales, craft shows and craft enshrined novice or endangered, are just some of the many activities that the Association of Artisans of Jumilla is doing.

Traditional crafts such as esparto, ceramics, woodworking, forging or bobbin lace and demonstrations are combined with new photography, design and painting, with new proposals in tissues, jewelry or decoration and materials other than traditional such as resins.

No lack of food in the association of craftsmen, because no one escapes our wines, our sweet, our cheeses and oils, our ancestral recipes are the backbone of our traditional culture, a culture that we can not lose.

Moreover, the Artisan's House wants to be a meeting place, chat, exchange of proposals and not just a training center and tourism promotion.
