Last week, within the Host Program and Social Integration of Immigrants in the Department of Social Policy School held a Family Workshop.
This activity was aimed at the general population, but most participants, nearly sixty people, were immigrants.
The workshop was taught by Maria Fernandez, Social Worker of the Autonomous Region which was accompanied by Abdu Bukra, translator of Social Services Jumilla.
This workshop mainly discussed family-related issues in general education, the problems of family structures, social integration, religion, health issues, customs, adapting to the city, cultural differences and how they affect these issues to children and also parents.
Attendees asked questions relating to adaptation, especially the smaller, family and the environment as well as language and education, and the subject of religion, it is not compulsory and many unknown.
They also discussed how the crisis affects these families.
One of the main solutions that revealed for the integration is learning the language, which is essential, first of the parents, who are the ones to instill that knowledge, then small.
According to professionals is also important to know the culture, attending courses, workshops, watching television and by all means put at their disposal.
It was also suggested as a means of integration that women should seek out training and to interact with their environment.
The overall assessment has been made of this workshop is very positive as it had a large share of people who were interested in many topics.
Moreover, within the same program, on Tuesday held a workshop on Prevention of Abuse and 23 and November 25 we developed a radio talk on Radio Jumilla.

Also every Monday and Thursday in the Central District of Santiago, from 18:00 to 20:00 hours conducts a Spanish course for Arab and until 30 December at the Roque Baños, Tuesdays and Thursdays there is another course Spanish for Bulgarians and Romanians.
Until December 13 at the school Our Lady of the Assumption and the Multipurpose Community Centre Barrio de Santiago are held after school activities for children from 6-10 years.
Finally, on 14 December at 17:00 at the CS Roque Baños will be a workshop on prevention of unwanted pregnancies and 21 December at 17:30 at the Roque Baños also will be offered rights Chat of women in Spanish law.
