The People's Party wins local elections with an absolute majority and a total of 12 councilors (23/05/2011)

Jumilla's Popular Party wins local elections with an absolute majority and a total of 12 councilors.

In the town were invited to vote a total of 16,727 citizens, of those who exercised their right to vote 11,652 voters in 27 polling stations installed for this purpose.

Participation was 69, 66% and 30.28% abstention.

The 1.51% of the votes were invalid (176) and 2.47% in white (272).

According to preliminary ratings on election day developed normally and with no incidents.

In terms of numbers, the PP won 6,054 votes (52.72%), giving it 12 councilors, the PSOE 3,525 votes (30.73%) and remain with 7 council members, 1,285 IU Green votes (11.20% ) and two Republican council members and Coalition for a total of 331 votes (2.88%) but gives no representation at City Hall.

Following these popular activists and supporters celebrated the victory in the PP headquarters in Jumilla.

As significant data, the PP won the largest number of votes in a table of the School of Music and another of Miguel Hernández (with 459 and 349 votes respectively).

For its part, the PSOE PP exceeded only two tables, both located in the electoral college Duke of Lerma (with 206 votes to 128 and 188 versus 161).

The highest figures were obtained by Green IU at a table in college Miguel Hernández, with 87 votes and another by the School of Music with 82 votes.

Finally, Republican Coalition won the largest number of votes in a school board Duke of Lerma, a total of 30.

A curious fact in two tables of the School of Music is where it gave the highest numbers of spoiled ballots (13) and blank votes (18).

Thus, the government team will be formed by Enrique Jimenez as mayor, followed by Alicia Abellán, Ramiro García, María Dolores Fernández, Juan Calabuig, Juan Manuel Abellán, Francisco Martinez, Ana Martinez, Marina García, Antonio Valero, Fernando Oñate and Francisco José Tomás.

For its part, the Socialist councilors will form part of the corporation shall Jesús Sánchez, Juana Gómez, Juan Gil, Cande Fernandez, Primitivo González, José López and María Dolores Pérez.

For IU Greens become part of the corporation, the number one Jose Antonio Perez and the number two candidate Benito Santos.

After the close of the poll, the main political leaders of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez called to congratulate him on the outcome of elections in Jumilla Similarly, both the PSOE candidate Jesus Sanchez, as the Greens candidate IU agreed that from now we have to continue working.

As reported in the media, Enrique Jimenez, PP candidate said that "success belongs to everyone and thanked those who have relied on the change."

He also stated that "we will leave the skin working."

For his part, Jesus Sanchez, Socialist candidate, who was accompanied by members of the candidature, as well as activists and supporters, thanked "all those who have worked and all the people who went to vote yesterday."

Finally, José Antonio Pérez, IU-Greens, expressed his joy and that it "has recognized the work of his party made a strong and constructive opposition."

These results are an accurate reflection of what occurred at the regional and national level, where the Popular Party won in many provinces and in most municipalities.

Thus, the PP of Murcia has taken the socialist mayors in the towns of San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcazares, Moratalla, Bullas and Jumilla.

Achieve an absolute majority in 36 localities, besides being the most voted in five municipalities.

Regarding the Regional Assembly, the PP obtained 33 seats (58%), the PSOE 11 (23%) and Greens one seat IU (11%).

In the district of Plateau, the PP will have two representatives: Vicente Maeso and Seve Gonzales and the PSOE one: Francisco Abellán.
