"Music between wines" reinforces the attractiveness of the offer of wine tourism in the region (27/05/2013)

The Minister of Culture and Tourism highlights the importance of these activities for the enhancement of the wine tourism product

The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today the sixth edition of 'Music from wines, an initiative of the Association Jumilla Wine Route that will take place between June 2 and August 3, 2013 .

During the twelve days will offer winery tours, concerts and taste wines from each of the wineries along with the cuisine of Jumilla.

In the presentation, which was also attended by the Mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, and the president of the association 'Jumilla Wine Route', Pedro Piqueras, the Minister said that it is an event that each year increases their level of acceptance and that "brings to the region two months full of events and activities" related to wine.

Also, Cruz stressed that "the main merit of this activity is the enhancement of our product wine."

He pointed out the need to create "seductive and exquisite experiences marked by excellence and amplified with other elements" as the wine "fits perfectly with all forms of culture," as the music for 'Music from wine', whose level of participation last year reached 260 people per winery and night, which "comes to indicate acceptance that has taken this activity," he said.

Cruz said that "we must work through small niches such as Music from Wines" because "is an important communication platform" and "fits squarely in the effervescence that wine culture is having on the region of Murcia."

.'s Association Jumilla Wine Route is a group which today are already associated around thirty local businesses, including wineries, wine shops, restaurants, accommodations and specialized companies.

Product enogastronómico

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, through the Institute of Tourism, is betting boost with different gastronomic product promotion and marketing.

Thus, in the 40 familiarization trips scheduled for 2013, both generic and specialized wine tourism product is promoted.

More specifically, during the month of April, the Institute of Tourism familiarization trips organized two separate specialized in wine tourism and agents who brought British and German journalists to know first product Wine Region.

Furthermore, it is organizing workshops with entrepreneurs from the region to create packages related to the Product Rural and wine tourism in the region that are "attractive" to the travel agencies at the national level.

Last year, about 23,000 tourists visited the wineries in the region during 2011, a figure that represents "an exponential growth of almost one hundred percent that has had this type of tourism in recent years," said Cruz.

The profile of wine tourists responds to a person older than 40 years, with medium-high purchasing power.

The main visitor is Spanish, Madrid and Catalonia stands, but we must add that the foreign market is also having importance.

The average daily expenditure of a tourist of wine is about 120 euros.

Spending per person per day in a warehouse is less than 10 euros in Spain, to which must be added the cost of accommodation and activities.
