The cultural agenda of the last quarter is marked by a tribute to the photographer Jumillano José Antonio Thomas (02/10/2013)

Emiliano Hernandez, Head of Culture Department of Jumilla today was in charge of presenting the Cultural Agenda since the Department is scheduled for the last quarter of 2013 and it comes complete with activities for all ages and in many different themes.

An important role in the cultural agenda of the last quarter we have the activities that the Museum House have been coordinated in collaboration with the Department of Culture as they are, children's activities in the two museums, with a Cultural Gynkhana October 12; Herbarium workshop on October 26, a Roman mosaic on November 9, the ingredients of the Earth on 23 November; popular games on 7 December and Christmas Balls workshop on 21 and 22 December.

In the framework of conferences, cultural agenda includes four dedicated to mineral heritage of the municipality, a first on minerals by Ángel Francisco Cutillas, November 19, one dedicated to fossils as inauguration of the Exhibition to be held on November 26 to December 15 on training, deposits and cleaning of parts, and a third on "Celia Mines".

In addition, on December 10, Sebastian Martinez will speak about the fossils of the municipality of Jumilla.

Moreover, on November 13 will be the turn of history with the presentation of Rafael González, professor at the University of Murcia on "Late Antiquity in the region of Murcia."

The literature also have their place with the presentation of several examples and activities for young audiences in collaboration with the Municipal Library.

On the one hand, will be presented October 23 Charo Cutillas novel "Rum Flavor" and on November 20 it will be the turn of "The Last Night of Victor Ros" Jerome Tristante.

The December 19, will be the turn to poetry with a tribute to the poet Jumillano D.

Another highlight will be the Night acts of "Enchanted To'Santos at the Museum" on November 2, a night of mystery, history and gastronomy with Thalia group participation, and the Restaurant De Loreto.

Tribute to Jose Antonio Thomas

New in this quarter, and in homage to one of the most representative photographer Jumilla, José Antonio Thomas, from the Department of Culture has decided to pay tribute to his work, which as explained Emiliano Hernandez, have served to collect some of the history and tradition of the town through their pictures, some with more than 50 years old.

For this reason, first from 19 October 20 I will run the Marathon Photo "Jumilla Monumeta" Jose Antonio Tomas, which the photographer himself will take part as a judge of the contest.

To complete the act, December 13, will open a permanent exhibition on the occasion of the donation of photographs, negatives and photographic material José Antonio Thomas has made the City of Jumilla, which will be located in hall of the Museum of Ethnography and Natural Sciences Jerónimo Molina.
