For months, the Youth Council has been working in the Educational Support Project aimed at children and young people in cultural disadvantage.
The project involves the implementation of a plan of educational support outside school hours, school run primary and first cycle of ESO, with the aim of preventing and reducing the problems of failure, absenteeism and drop occurring in the municipality.
The project is in collaboration with the Service of Social and Volunteer of the University of Murcia, and he university students interested in participating, offer educational enrichment classes to students referred from schools for two sessions weekly hour and a half each.
This will facilitate the promotion and personal integration of children and young people from the school, family and society, through a process of capacity building.
It also helps prevent and reduce problems of failure, absenteeism and early school dropout.
Moreover, the program also benefits college students responsible for providing tutoring classes.
Interested persons will receive a certificate stating the hours of voluntary action, which can be validated later by a maximum of 4.5 elective credits.
Furthermore, the university will be trained and certified specifically for the proper performance of the activity, as well as support and advice for its development.
