Hundreds of visitors toured yesterday Jumilla attracted European Wine Tourism Day (11/11/2013)

Yesterday, Jumilla, city of wine, celebrated with open house at wineries, museums and the Castillo, the European Wine Tourism Day, with which it managed to attract the attention of hundreds of visitors throughout the day, knowing they were part of gastronomic and cultural wealth of the town, taking the wine as the protagonist.

According to the Wine Route, the participating wineries managed to fill in the open day, 80% of places for tours, and restaurants attached to the Gastronomic, recorded a packed especially during the meal.

From the Department of Tourism, there were two scheduled visits Cultural Space Jumilla Castle, attended by over 200 people.

Also the number of visits in the two municipal museums was much higher than the normal average.

María Dolores Fernández, Councillor for Culture and Tourism, said in this connection that "yesterday was a very important day for wine tourism in the town, as it exceeded the expectations overwhelmingly the figures show the tremendous potential of Jumilla wine tourism ".

The European Wine Tourism Day is a day that invites wine lovers and tourist to enjoy the activities organized by the cities and wine tours in different European countries that form the European Network of Wine Cities, with the aim of assessing and promote the territory as economic assets and encourage wine tourism.

It is celebrated simultaneously in more than 60 European cities, and in Jumilla coincides with the development of the Gastronomic Wine Route that held until December 1.
