The Community and the City of Jumilla analyze the progress of the sealing and restoration of facilities the town dump (16/01/2014)

The presidential adviser, Manuel Campos, today held a meeting with the mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, under sustained collaboration and coordination between regional and local government on draft sealing, closure and environmental restoration of the vessels 1, 2 and 3 of treatment facilities and disposal.

At the meeting, the actions taken to date for the redevelopment of the land and vegetation restoration of the affected area, which consisted of the contribution of topsoil, the redistribution of material and workmanship of leachate collected were analyzed.

The project, which will involve a total investment of 2,066,905 euros, consist of earthworks and waste and cover with clay soils and geotextiles, filling and planting native vegetation, and the installation of drainage pipes and chimneys for gas extraction.

It will be financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union by 80 percent and the Community in the remaining 20 percent.

Its aim is to prevent and control potential health risks for people or the environment, soil and water, arising from the actions of disposal of non-hazardous nature.

In the same vein, the vessel construction project number 4 for the deposit of non-hazardous waste landfill, provided with an amount of 717 193 euros was also analyzed.

For this, we proceeded to the removal of existing trees in the area and the extraction of soil, which the vessels 1, 2 and 3 is intended.

Investment in the town

The head of the Presidential presented Mayor reflects the budgets provided by his department in the town this year.

In security key, the regional government in 2014 allocated more than € 18.4 million Public Safety Plan, of which 600,000 euros to invest in Jumilla oriented cover 20 effective local police assigned to the regional plan.

The Minister Manuel Campos forward to the first mayor of the municipality that the Budget 2014 includes a block grant of 600,000 euros to municipalities in the region aimed at addressing the CAVIS Network (Centers Services for Women Victims of Domestic Violence), which is included the town of Jumilla a point to provide specialized care and personalized next victims of this social scourge intervention.
