Jumilla joins the regional network of entrepreneurs municipalities to boost their business network and attract new companies (21/01/2014)

The Minister of Industry, Enterprise and Innovation visits the Central Quesera Montesinos, which focuses on research, development and innovation, with a clear export orientation

Jumilla has become 'Entrepreneur Municipality', thanks to an agreement signed today between the Minister of Industry, Enterprise and Innovation, José Ballesta, and the local mayor, Enrique Jimenez, through which various actions to further promote the development agreement and the development of entrepreneurial business ventures.

The Minister José Ballesta said that "seeks unity of action between the regional and local administrations, which are coordinated effectively and efficiently to promote initiatives to stimulate local business development and generating employment, creating an environment conducive manner."

He added, "It involves administrative simplification, a step in the streamlining of procedures that the entrepreneur must perform before the two administrations, resulting in a reduction of time needed so far to create a business."

The agreement includes eight axes of action are specified in 53 measures, including actions that are intended to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit at an early age, and to value the perception that society has of the entrepreneur.

It also includes identifying sources of employment generators of the town, attracting potential entrepreneurs and tax incentive measures at the municipal level.

In this partnership is committed to the promotion and strengthening of own or other infrastructure that can accommodate activities in its initial phase on advantageous terms.

Thus, the Institute for the Promotion of the Region (Info) encourage, along with the city, hosting entrepreneurs and new business initiatives in the business incubator of the municipality located in the Industrial Park 'Los Romerales Jumillano', and this, in turn, will be integrated into the network of nurseries that promotes regional body.

Also, both administrations cooperate in identifying existing current offer in the Industrial Park 'Castle Hill' and Romerales Industrial Estate, and the development of support activities to the business and potential entrepreneurs through various instruments and through its integration into the Red Point SMEs.

With this addition and 16 municipalities are distinguished as entrepreneurs: Abarán, Eagles, Alhama de Murcia, Murcia, Cartagena, Cehegín, Cieza, Fuente Alamo, La Union, Lorquí, Molina de Segura, Mula, Puerto Lumbreras, Totana Yecla and Jumilla .

The 'Entrepreneur Municipality' initiative is an action that the regional government, through the info, makes a pioneer in Spain, part of the 'Plan Emprendemos' of the region, for which the Community won the award 'European Entrepreneurial Region' European Commission.

After signing the agreement with the City of Jumilla, responsible for Industry visited the facilities of one of the local companies, Central Quesera Montesinos.

It stressed that "it is a competitive company that is committed to research, development and innovation, which is attached to respect for the environment and a clear export orientation."

Montesinos products have won several international awards, and the company gets more than a third of the turnover in foreign markets, most notably the U.S., UK, Germany, Sweden, Greece, the Netherlands and Canada.
