The City of Jumilla, ordered to pay 10,000 euros for organizing a conference held in 2008 the UGT (12/03/2014)

Jumilla City Council has received declaratory judgment that the Court of Administrative Litigation No 2 of Murcia, has condemned the city of Jumilla to pay various expenses corresponding to the II Cultural Week UGT bill held in Jumilla in May 2008, under the previous government of the Socialist party in office.

According approves the sentence, "although it may be uneven performance of the City, ordering a union holding a conference which would take financially the City without work prior estimate, or written contract of any kind, there is no doubt contracting status of the city council, and in consequence of its obligation to pay. "

In June 2008, the union organized in the city of Jumilla II Cultural Week UGT, which was attended by among others, former Minister Jesus Caldera, Secretary General of the UGT Candido Mendez, the then government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and members of the government team, with the then mayor of Jumilla, Francisco Abellan to the head.

Derived from that event, the City assumed various invoices for this association celebration, however, payment is delayed in time until October 2011, and under popular government, the city agreed not recognize extrajudicially credit bill 10,000 euros, having no report justifying municipal official.

The company then brought an action manifestly putting the actual implementation of services, and payment required.

The Court of Administrative Litigation No. 2 in Murcia, now has certified that indeed, the services were performed, and the City must pay the amount subscribed, no possibility of an ordinary appeal.

Given this, the mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, said that "it is necessary to reflect on the municipal management, because those 10,000 euros is all Jumillano money and are holding a trade union in particular."

He has also stated that "this story is contrasted today known on Monday, by which the city of Jumilla closed the year 2013 with a surplus of over 5 million, as reported by the Municipal Intervention".

In this sense, the mayor noted that "the elimination of this type of wasteful spending, are the ones allowing clean up municipal accounts, and fulfill, now with all the parameters set by law, as well Councilwoman report Hacienda Alicia Abellan ".
